What to do during a disaster

Flood

Before the event

Check whether your home is in a flood-risk area. Follow warnings and prepare a family evacuation plan. Move valuables to upper floors.

During the event

Follow instructions from authorities and emergency responders. Leave promptly when evacuating. Do not enter flooded areas or flowing water.

After the event

Return only once it is confirmed safe. Document damage and check that water is safe before using it.
